What I did
- Started the model, so the options for extending the house could stand side by side and be compared.
- Put the plot, the setbacks and the water main’s easement into it as walls that can be hidden, which shows where nothing may be built.
- The roof, eight windows and nine rooms came out of the drawings instead of out of an estimate.
- By the end of the week there were four variants of the new house plus a staged plan, each with a rough cost off the model’s own quantities.
- An independent critic showed that half the checks could never have failed, and a mutation test went in against that.
